Gabby Blackford has been on the Madison Girls Volleyball team for the past three years and she is now going into her senior year of High School. She is the right side hitter for the team and she is a good leader on and off the court.
On Wednesday August 23rd the girls faced the Edgewood Warriors and defeated them in three games to one. For that game Gabby had three hard kills to put Madison in the lead. For Gabby’s Senior year she wants to make it memorable. She wants to make it fun with all of her volleyball, gymnastics, and softball teammates. During Gabby’s Junior year of High School she was the State champion for gymnastics for vault.
That year, the girls softball team won Districts against Chardon High School and went to Regional. Gabby had also lead the Madison softball team with four home runs. She is in the National Honors Society and Spanish Club. Her academics are outstanding, having all A’s during high school making her weighted GPA a 4.4, and now goes to Lake Erie College for her senior year where she takes Government, Stats, Sociology, and Spanish.
Gabby’s High School goals are to repeat state title for Gymnastics and break her record for vault. She also wants to win at regionals with the Madison Softball team and make it to States. Gabby’s future plans are to go to college, however she has not decided if she wants to go to Cleveland State University, Ohio University, Mount Union, or John Carroll. She plans to pursue a professional career in medicine.
Gaby loves to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, and the Big 10 Gymnastics. Her favorite movie to watch is Pearl Harbor, and on top of that, she is obsessed with her Labradoodle puppy Maverick as seen in the picture below.
