Tuesday, October 2 is a memorable date in the books for the JV Lady Blue Streaks Soccer Team. Within the many battles that have been scattered across the Lady Blue Streaks’ schedule in the past years, this was the only match where the Wildcats couldn't survive the storm.
Never before taking a win against Mayfield, the Lady Blue Streaks brought the storm to their home field, pressuring the Wildcats from the start of the first half, and delivered two shots into the back of their net by halftime whistle. They took on the second half with the same intensity as the first, striking the back of the net two more times before the time ran out. With four goals made by freshmen Ryan Burns and Reagan Swinarski and Sophomore Bella Perez, the Lady Blue Streaks make their mark on the soccer program and took the first win against the Mayfield Wildcats.
Perez, delivering two of the four goals to the remarkable win, said that what she felt helped the Lady Blue Streaks to carry out the win was the fact that they worked together as a team, completing the simple plays and cut off passes and mistakes made by the Wildcats. The Blue Streaks played their game with passion, making their hard work pay off and making their supporters proud.
"It was a good day to be a Blue Streak!" said Perez.
