Cheering On The Boys

By: Jillian Jeschenig

Junior, Caelyn Pritschau, is a two-year varsity member of both the football and basketball cheer teams here at MHS. She is also a captain for the competition team, which she has been a part of for three years.

Besides cheer, she is also apart of student council, key club,  women’s choir, and is a straight A student. Caelyn has great energy on the sidelines and is always nice to everyone she meets. She has a great personality and always tries to get the boys hyped up and excited to play, regardless of the score.

When asked about her experience on the team, she said, “Being on the team is like being apart of a big family, we all love to laugh and mess around with each other”. She always shows up to the games with a great attitude, ready to hype up the boys. “I think we’ve had a really good season so far, despite our record. I really enjoy cheering on the boys under the lights every Friday. I can’t wait for basketball and competition season to begin.”

Goals that Caelyn has for the rest of her high school career are to place in states with the competition cheer team and maintain her good grades. Some of her favorite moments from high school so far have been seeing Rocky win homecoming queen, winning nationals with the competition team her freshman year, and Project Unify.

In the future, Caelyn would like to study dermatology. She has been looking at many different colleges, some being The Ohio State University and Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu. She really wants to travel to different countries like Greece, Sweden, and Italy. In her spare time, Caelyn likes to hang out with her friends and her boyfriend, watch movies, go out to eat, and spend time with her family.
