The Madison Girls Cross Country team hosted the "U Wanna Come Back" Invitational here at Madison High School with a 3.2 mile long course that stretched from the High School to the Middle School. The course started at the JV softball field, went around the football practice field, through the fitness trail, around the Middle School football and soccer fields, and back to the JV softball field.
Over 1,000 runners participated in the meet from schools scattered across Northern Ohio. The teams who were in the meet were Beachwood, Pymatuning Valley, Perry, Mentor, Chardon, Wickliffe, Amherst, Kirtland, Edgewood, Conneaut, and John Hay High school.
In the Varsity race, the first runner to cross the finish line for the Lady Blue Streaks was Senior Julia Sansalone who ran a time of 21:18, and was then followed by Junior Brooke Butler who ran an impressive race and achieved a lifetime personal best of 21:46! Other notable performances from Saturday were from Freshman Audrey King, Emma Lewis, and Aubrey Sumrom who all ran lifetime bests too!
