On September 26 the Madison Marching Band went to the Lake County Music Educators Association’s 2018 Marching Band Festival, (or LCMEA for short). It is an opportunity for bands to play their halftime performances for people. This is also not a competition, the event is for people who like music to be able to see the bands’ performances where they wouldn’t have been able to see them.
This event also allows for bands to get closer to each other and the community. Eleven other bands also participated in the event to show their support. Also, the members who were able to attend said that they had a blast and thought it was important for our community. The community also agreed that they had a blast being able to see all these bands play for them.
Another important event that the band has to attend is their meeting with Fox News! The band will be driving out to their studio on October 19th. They have to leave at 4:30 AM, that isn’t going to be fun, however they will get to perform live on Fox in the morning! I find this to be good for Madison’s reputation.
This event will be able to show the skills and talent of the Madison Band. Although not all members of the band are attending this, it will still be impressive. Let’s hope our band good luck on their performance for Fox News in the morning!
