At contest, each group will perform for three judges. The judges will quietly talk into microphones
about how each band or choir handle their pieces and write comments on paper. After they're done,
the groups will be ushered into a sight reading room where they'll be given a sheet of music. Each
performer gets four minutes to study the music. After the four minutes is up, the band or choir director
will have another four minutes to talk about the piece, conduct it and count rhythms. After four more
minutes, the group plays the music for judges. When the sight reading process is done, the
performers will return to their homeroom and wait for their rating. The rating is between one and five,
with one being the highest and five being the lowest.
