One Last Time

By: Jillian Jeschenig

Aidan Thompson is heading into his senior year here at Madison. Aidan
performed extremely well at his last Lift-A-Thon, making it onto the 10th
spot for bench power at 305lbs and the 2nd place spot for squat power at
495lbs. His team also won first place overall for most weight lifted. When
asked about the event, Aidan said, “Lift-A-Thon went really well and
everyone did a really good job. It was sad to think about how this coming
season will be our last but I’m proud of our team and I’m looking forward
to my senior football season”.

Throughout his high school career, Aidan has made many accomplishments.
He is a member of the 1000 pound club after this year’s Lift-A-Thon, Rookie
of the Year his sophomore year, News Herald Scholar Athlete his sophomore
and junior year, Offensive MVP, and All County his junior year, and he won
the hot dog eating contest this past year.

Some of Aidan’s favorite memories of high school have been starting varsity
football his sophomore year, Willis’s pregame speeches, basketball games
this past season and going to Wendy’s afterwards. His goals for his senior
year are to go to the playoffs and be an all-state player for football.

After high school Aidan is planning on pursuing a career in the engineering
field. His favorite movies are Joe Dirt, and Super Troopers, his favorite
show is Trailer Park Boys, his favorite class is English with Mr. Herald, and
his favorite sports teams are the Browns and the Indians. In his free time,
Aidan likes to spend time with the boys, his family, and his girlfriend. He is
super excited for his senior year and can’t wait for football season to begin.
