Maddie Shires has Mrs. Kempers first block CCP / English Composition 2 class. It is a class based on learning about the argumentative strategies, along with doing the research process. CCP is a College Credit Plus which is a course through Lakeland.
Maddie's personal opinion on he CCP class is that it is "a great opportunity that Madison High School and Lakeland have to offer. As I am getting both my English credit for high school, I am also getting one to put towards my college credits". Maddie also says that she likes being in a small class and by small I mean they only have eight students in the class. It provides a lot more of one on one teaching abilities than say a regular English class.
Mrs. Kemper has excelled in answering all of there questions and giving them what they need to succeed in not only her classroom but when they go into the real world. Maddie says that by far, her favorite part of the class would have to be the daily pun that my peers and she writes and illustrates a picture for on the board. It adds a friendly/welcoming aspect to the environment in the classroom.
Right now in class they are learning about currently they have currently just finished up our debate section of curriculum. As they were separated into two group (4 and 4) and had two different topics, One group did Gun Control while the other did immigration. And within the two groups, it was a two versus two debate, one side being the affirmative view on their topic than the other on being negative. Then they were introducing to our persuasive speeches in which we have to persuade our audience to want to make change in something for our society.
