The JV Madison Blue Streaks had a tough battle on their hands Tuesday April 9th against Mayfield. In their previous match up with Mayfield the streaks won 11-7 but in the latest win they won by a slim 1 point lead.
The streaks started off strong until Mayfield hit a stride in the 3rd inning with a couple runs scoring. Madison hit a slump and couldn’t get the bats moving until the 5th inning when Anna Fedele hit a triple scoring 2 runs and Kelsie McCandless hitting a double also scoring 2 runs. Alyssa Molnar then hit a single also getting another run in and Tyra Orinko stealing home making the streaks up by 2. However, in the 6th inning the wildcats had a rally scoring multiple runs making the streaks down by 7 heading into the 7th inning.
With tremendous pitching done by Kelsie McCandless pitching a 1 2 3 strike out the Blue Streaks were heading into bat with fire and intensity needing to score 7 runs to tie and 8 runs to win.
The Blue Streaks took the game in the 7th inning by Anna Fedele, Kelsie McCandless, Nanette Neely, Alyssa Molnar, and Chloe Mcginnis scoring the winning run. The bats were on fire and the girls came back from being down by 7 and took the win by a slim 1 point. The streaks did not just have to battle the wildcats but also battle the umps since they were not calling great calls, but the streaks never lost hope and kept cheering for each other and kept their heads high. The girls battle the North Rangers at north on Friday April 12th.
