Living to Cheer

By: Jillian Jeschenig

Caitlin Barnicoat is a two-year member of the JV football and basketball cheer teams. She cheered throughout middle school and is very involved in the community. Caitlin is a captain for the JV cheer team this year and is enjoying her time on the team.

Being on the team has been a great experience for Caitlin and she can’t wait to continue cheering as she finishes out her next two years of high school. She has also been on the competition team for two years now. However, cheer is not the only way Caitlin is involved in the community. She is also a member of Show Choir and apart of Key Club.

Caitlin won Miss Grapette this past year as well. She cares greatly about her academics, she currently has over a 4.0 GPA and received an award for top of her class for history last year. She hopes to graduate high school with a 4.0 or higher GPA and an honors diploma. She would also like to go into post-secondary to get a head start on college.

Caitlin doesn’t know where she would like to go quite yet but she plans on going to college to become a pediatrician. Her favorite memory of high school so far was walking into homecoming after winning Miss Grapette and having all of her friends screaming to congratulate her and hugging her. Some fun facts about her are her favorite movie is How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and her favorite class is biology with Mr. Pira. Caitlin encourages everyone to stop out and support the boys basketball team as the season comes to an end.
