Beat Perry

BY: Isabel Gnagy

This week we take on our life long rivals the Perry Pirates. The brown jug has been in Perry’s possession for two years. So far this season perry has been undefeated with a 2-0 record. Madison has a 1-1 record so far with last Friday’s loss against Lakeside but that has all been said and done.
This Friday, as put in Coach Willis’s words, “It’s going to be a great game. It’s always a great game. Both teams are looking forward to it.” Principal Fisher says that “Despite being the big underdogs as we have been for the last two years, in this game, I believe our guys will raise to the occasion and be there right till the end.”

As said in the last article covering our first home game, the players are putting in a lot of
effort and focus into this game. It’s our rivalry game and everyone is wanting to come out on top with a win. Last year’s game ended with a heartbreaking loss of 14-21.

Even in the classroom the football players feel they will 100 percent win. When a comment was made jokingly about losing this Friday, tight end Cameron Luster shot down the statement immediately with a strong 212 spirit.

Most of the student body feels the Blue Streaks football team can go out to Perry this Friday and put in their all into the game from 7 p.m. to the very end. Junior Jordan P. doesn’t quite know what expect out of the game. She’s hoping for a win but predicts a tie. There’s only three ways the game could go but we won’t know until the Perry verse Madison game starts. This Friday night lights game should be one to remember for a while.
