Teacher Biography

BY: Rosemary Bias

“Teaching is never easy, everyday is completely different!”  A typical teaching day for Mrs. Hanley can be very crazy and is different every single day, even though she teaches the same classes.  She has to be flexible and she just goes with the flow of each day as it happens. She went to  Malone College, The University of Akron and Grand Canyon University and has a Master’s in Special Education for students in PreK-12th grade.

Mrs. Hanley has been a teacher for 16 years, where she first started in preschool and made her way up to the high school. She also said that she always wanted to be a teacher since she was a little girl and she would always play school. She loves seeing students progress and succeed over the school year.

Mrs. Hanley has been married for 14 years and has two little girls. The oldest is 10, her name is Heavin, and the youngest is 8, her name is Kailana. Her favorite teacher was her first grade teacher. She said she was caring and loving, but her most inspirational teacher was her 12th grade English teacher because she really cared about her students and got them very interested in wanting to read, learn and write.

Mrs. Hanley really enjoys teaching science because she thinks that students learn so much from hands on experience. She really hopes that she makes a difference in her students lives and that more than anything for her students to know that they can be successful at anything they put their mind to. She is happy so far with what she has achieved being a teacher over the years.
