Cookin Up Cross Country

BY: Toni Burr

Cross Country season is still here and it is only getting better! One of the spotlight runners is Owen Hennessey, he is a fast, steady paced runner. I asked Owen how his meets are going and he replied with, "The meets are fun, we have to get up really early so we're always tired but it's always worth it because I always seem to be getting better."

Owen has many awards and recognition, he has five varsity letters, he has two for cross country, one for swimming, and two for track. He also has four academic plaques: one for choir, geometry, Spanish, and science. Owen's high school highlight is that he is a section leader in marching band and also in jazz band.

Owen has many high school goals, one big one is that he wants to graduate with honors and with a grade point average higher than 4.0. He also wants to become a president in all of the clubs he is currently in. He wants to be a drum major in band and a dance captain or a section leader in show choir. He also wants to go to college in his near future.

Owen also has a life outside of school and his activities. His favorite Disney movie is The Incredibles, and his favorite Disney princess movie is Tangled. He also likes plays, his favorite is the new Beauty and the Beast.  Owen also really likes to read, his favorite book is The Mysterious Benedict Society, and his favorite movie series is Star Wars.

Madison Cross Country is a big sport here at the high school, all of the kids work very hard everyday and they are getting so much better at what they do.
