The JV volleyball team hasn’t had the best of luck during the season so far. They are a good, hard working team that pushes themselves, but the score doesn’t always show that. So far they have beat Warrensville heights, they accomplished this on Tuesday. Today they played a spectacular game! They won in two games, the score of the final game was 25 to 14 with a Madison victory. They played this game to win, there was nothing stopping them today. They were very scrappy and consistent.
I kept my eyes on three girls today. These girls were Halle Blackford, Angela West, and Taylor Menough. Halle is a setter, and a very good one. She played a great game today! I mainly focused on Halle today because without a setter, the play can’t continue, the setter always has the second ball. It is important that people stay out of the setters way. Without Halle the hitters would have a very hard time doing their job. Halle had about 45 sets today, she didn’t have many errors. Angel also had a very good game. She was very scrappy and hustled after every ball that came her way. Angel is the libero, which means she is the best passer on the team. She has to have a good pass in order for the setter to have an easier job. Angela had eleven digs and six passes to the setter, she had two errors. Taylor also played a great game. Taylor is a middle hitter, she finishes out the play. As the middle hitter she hits the ball when the set is put right over the net. The middle hitter is most likely a tall girl. Taylor got about 20 or so sets. Taylor also is a blocker, she is a very good one. She also gets the occasional pass.
Talking to some of the fans and others, everyone thought it was a fun game to watch. Over all the JV volleyball team had a very good game today. They played again on Saturday against Buckeye Trail, and Valley Forge, it is a home game. I know that these girls are going to keep pushing themselves as hard as they can.
