A Historical Season

The Madison boy's soccer team, coached by Julio Gutierrez, has had a good start to their 2019 season. The team is lead by captains C.J Kessler, Justus Albert, and David Swinarski. This year there are twelve seniors all that have been striving for years to make their last season the best in program history. The seniors include C.J Kessler, Justus Albert, Anthony Naso, Brian Keyser, Isaac Moyer, John Wetzel, Gurkarn Chima, Nate Gortz, Brandon Hass, Cameron May, Gage Vannoy, and Fabian Ruiz-Diaz.
During the off season the team began performance training at the Spire institute, waking up early to fine tune and improve their strength and agility. The lads have gotten off to a good start to their season going 2-1, just narrowly falling to Orange Highschool. The lads opened up their season beating Geneva and Chardon in their first WRC match.
Next week the boys team will have three home games against Brush, Cleveland Heights, and Wickliffe. This group of young men do not just treat each other like teammates but as family members, and this is what allows them to communicate so well on the pitch. Everyday the team shows up to practice ready to work and fix what they need improvement on. When talking with coach Julio he says that he believes that this team has the potential to be one of the best teams in the history of the soccer program at MHS. With so many seniors leaving the season is looking up to be one of the most dramatic and action packed seasons.
