Blue Streaks Starting Their Season Off Right

The Madison Jv football team played their first game of the season on Saturday, August 31st. The game took place against the Geneva Eagles at Spire Institute in Geneva. The JV team came out strong Saturday morning in an attempt to turn things around after Friday night’s Varsity loss. Giving it their all, the team secured a win.
They have worked hard all summer in preparing for this season. Their hard work and effort has started to show. JV quarterback Michael O’brien would lead the young offensive line on a series of hard fought drives. Randy Taulbee would command the defense at middle linebacker as well as keeping the chains moving at running back on the other side of the ball.
Later in the game Will Eaton helped lead the offensive and defensive line to a great game with a forced fumble on defense, and amazing blocks on offense. Truman Myers had an amazing game on the offensive side of the ball with multiple good runs and receptions.  Even with a close score, the boys kept their minds determined to achieve a victory. With a final score of 16-14 they snatched a win. The team and fans were thrilled to be a part of the team’s first victory of the season.
Everyone is looking forward with excitement to see how the boys take on the rest of the season. Fans will surely be cheering them on from the stands. The boys of Madison football are not just a team, they are more like a family. They are always willing to help each other out when one of them is in need. Next year most of these boys hope to be playing Friday night under the lights. They are a team of hard workers with strong character. Here’s to rooting them on for second with this coming Saturday against Lakeside!
