The Madison High school band had an amazing performance at the first home football game on Friday August 30th. They definitely put on a show and impressed the large, engaging crowd we had. Although Madison did not win, the atmosphere was still full of spirit as is should be considering all the hard work each player and band member put in.
I interviewed Suzy Lausin, a junior in the Madison marching band, to preview the events they have coming in the future. Suzy is one of the new drum majors, which she enjoys very much and says it’s a lot of fun. She informed me that there is band bash on September 14th at Solon, Ohio. Bands from all over come here and perform making it a very fun band show giving you different experiences on other school bands. It gives you a chance to see how other schools perform and the type of things they do differently than what we would do.
On Monday September 21st, Madison’s marching band will be performing at the Grape Jamboree. It would be great if Madison students came to support the band in the parade and showed some spirit! The Grape Jamboree is a great place to celebrate the dedication our members put in, and there is a lot more to do and see. On Friday September 25th there is a LCMEA band show, which basically is a show in Lake County where all band members in Lake County perform. We wish the best of luck to the band members in their upcoming events.
