Sports rewrite: Jv boys soccer

The junior varsity boys soccer team kicked off their first conference match on August 27th with a win over Chardon. Currently the young boys hold a record of 2 wins and 1 loss after the Chardon game. While talking to Armaan Chima, one of the three captains on the team he explains that before the game he knew it was going to be a good game and that his team would be able to hold the Hilltoppers off but he had some nerves about the rain and wet turf. With little to no practice on turf fields, the boys didn’t let a little rain stop them, they kept possession most of the game and easily worked the ball up the field to bring in 5 goals. Although with some bad luck on the defensive end with letting in 2 goals, that didn’t stop them from pushing forward and continuing to win the game. The goal scorers were captain and sophomore Chad Lewis with two and three others came from Steven Scott, Gavin Svagerko, and Aiden Hampton. Talking with the three captains they all agreed that the entire team had a great performance overall by leaving everything they had on the field to bring home the win.

With high morale the boys are ready to practice hard and prepare for the next game with another conference team. Both captains Armaan and Chad believe that this game gave the young boys more motivation going into their upcoming games in the future, this win brought the boys up with high spirits and ready to dominate the field once again against Brush High School at home on Tuesday, September 3rd.
