Geneva Week

Week one of the start of the football season was very eventful for the cheerleaders. The football boys did not bring a win home with a heartbreaking loss of 22-19. Although the girls really managed to keep the school spirit rolling as the nail-biting game continued.
Junior Caitlin Barnicoat went on to say “We really enjoyed ourselves no matter the outcome of the game. My friendships with these girls help me to have fun even when we’re losing or even when it’s a very stressful fourth quarter”
The boys started off strong but ultimately lost in the final seven seconds of the game. The girls stated that they really amped up their sideline chants and cheers in that final quarter. Constantly encouraging the football team to not give up.
Throughout the game they also did many crowd involvement cheers with the student section to help them boost the boys spirits and give them that “I can do this” energy.
Senior, Caelyn Pritschau, stated “We also do things outside of the game itself like decorating the locker room, doing walk throughs with the band, or pep assemblies, to try to keep the guys in high spirits. And to encourage them to shake off this tough loss so we can be more prepared to go into next weeks game.”
The cheerleaders hope to beat Perry this week and finally bring home that little brown jug.
