Madison Blue Streaks vs. Mayfield Cougars

The Lady Blue Streaks varsity volleyball team won their last game on Saturday against Valley Forge at Madison Middle School, beating them in three consecutive games. The girls played the Mayfield cougars Wednesday at 7:00 at Madison High School. The varsity team has lost to the Mayfield girls in years past but they are looking to turn around their losing streak to them by taking a victory home on Wednesday. The girls put their best foot forward with their starting line up of senior and team captain Lauren Smith, junior Sadie Broadwater,  and sophomores Carly Conforte, Delaney McGrain,Caleigh Snopel, and Ellie Smith.

The girls are staying positive this season even after losing to some tough competitors like the Geneva Eagles and the Riverside Beavers. The team has really come together and is closer than ever before. The girls put up a good fight against the lady cougars. The girls lost the first game nineteen to twenty-five  and the second game twenty-three to twenty-five they came back and won the third game with Lauren Smith scoring the winning point with an amazing spike that none of the Mayfield girls could defend against. The girls couldn’t keep a win streak and they lost the fourth game giving Mayfield the three out of five games they needed to win and take home a victory against the Madison Blue Streaks. Their next game is Thursday at home against Brush and they hope to see you there.
