All About Student Council

Welcome back to a brand new school year! This school year is going to be filled with awesome school events all arranged by Madison’s very own Student Council! For those who don’t know exactly what student council is and what they do may not really understand the importance of it. Student Council is an organization run by students but overlooked by adults, they organize school activities and events. They are the voice of the student body and help improve school spirit among the school and the student body. There are three main roles in student council, the President, Vice President, and the Treasurer, and then under those roles its student body representatives that just want to be apart of it and help.

Vice president of the junior class Corin Cody talks about some of the fun things she wants to plan for this school year, “Some things we have planned for this year would include more spirit weeks, trying to plan more fun activities at lunch during holidays, we want the students to get more involved with the school and their community, I would like to see the spirit buses for away sporting events start up and running again, personally I would like to bring up the idea of painting senior parking spaces, and bringing back senior quotes.

Corin and her fellow student council members play a huge role in our school activities and events, and do a great job! Though Corin is taking classes at Auburn she’s making sure to stay on top of her student council work as the vice president! Since the school year has only just started they haven’t been able to have a meeting yet, but they will be having one soon. One of the next things on their agenda is organizing Spirit week. Spirit week is an amazing week to participate in school activities and show your school spirit! So make sure to stay on the lookout for any news regarding spirit week, and anyways you can help student council achieve their goals and more for the 2019-2020 school year!
