The junior varsity girl’s soccer team, led by coach Mackenzie Spangler and assistant coach Sydney Luyando, have their first conference game against the Chardon lady hilltoppers this Tuesday at home. Over the off-season, they have been training almost every day, preparing for this season, especially for conferences matches.
Their record so far is 0-3-1 and they plan taking home another win against the opponents this Tuesday. Last year, our junior varsity team beat Chardon’s Jv team, however, this year‘s Jv team has almost no chemistry together and much is unknown about them as a unit. The key to victory this game is to gauge the new team’s strengths and use them to our advantage, and having confidence as a team overall. Building chemistry is also an essential part to win against this team. Defensive captain Allyssa Cardile, and offensive captain Melanie Rhibar believe that they will pull through with a win against Chardon, giving them a record of 0-3-2 and making them undefeated in the conference as well.
Allyssa believes that this is the first of many wins for their team and their bond/chemistry as a team is already growing. Since their recent losses this season, the team has learned a lot and is ready to get back out on the field and show what they have learned from these games and what they have to offer. This team has put in a lot of hard work and effort and they show a lot of potential. Their future looks very bright ahead.
