Madison band 2019-2020

Are we ready for another exciting season of football, student sections, and lastly dancing and cheering to the music the band performs for us? This year we have a total of 80 new band members to kick off this school year. I think we should all appreciate the time and effort each band member puts in to give us a good show at the football games and anywhere else they perform. From becoming more disciplined to understanding the complexities of working as a team you learn valuable life lessons such as, multi-tasking, personal growth, endurance, leadership, responsibility, presentation, and many more.
I interviewed Maria Stocker, a junior in marching band, to get an inside look for this upcoming year. First, Maria talks about how she really enjoys band and it is a lot of fun because of all the people she met and the friends that she has made. On Wednesday August 28, Maria and all the other band members had a drumline battle at the captains game in Eastlake, Ohio. A drumline battle is when all the drumlines from each band that is at the game compete to be the best. Once they have performed and did the best they could with giving a great amount of effort the people vote for who they think succeeded the most. The members were proud of themselves and did very good at their first drumline of the year. This year is filled with exciting new things that they can’t wait to share with everyone else!
